Summary: Agent Torrin St. James, an Empath PsiCorps agent, wakes up after a four year coma to find out that his fiancé Sky and his Resonance Partner Riley--the members of his psychic triad--have been led to believe he died after being gunned down by an organized crime boss. His handler Quintus is the only one to know that Torrin was entered into WitSecPsi, (Witness Protection and Security PsiCorps), in hopes he would recover and be able to put away the crime boss as well as identify the leak in the PsiCorps department that enabled the ambush. While trying to adapt to the idea that his family has moved on without him, Torrin discovers Quintus's feelings for him and gets caught up in the idea of a life unlived and choices not made.
Torrin formal statement is entered into testimony and he is allowed to finally see Sky and Riley at a safe house location. Two days before Christmas with an isolating snow storm moving in, the four are left to deal with their feelings of loss, betrayal, longing and love that can’t be denied. Their natures are shaped by the stimulus that brought their psychic abilities “online”; sex for Sky and Torrin, earning the nickname incubi for them and those like them, sex and blood for Riley and the name vampire and sex and fear for Quintus. When emotions are at their highest and sex is what unifies, their natures become passion personified.
